Who are you surrounding yourself with? Are they negative also? If this is the case try and limit the time you spend with them. Read a good book, see a comedy movie, try and have a positive attitude. You will live longer and be a happier person.
What do you think? Comment below!

Anyone who doesn’t know what kind of attitude she’s talking about: AN ATTITUDE IS A POSITION IN DANCE, THAT’S WHY THIS QUESTION IS IN THE DANCE SECTION!!!
I haven’t done dance in years, but I still remember how to do some things, like an attitude for example. I’m not sure how to describe it, but study this dancer’s form, it might give you a better idea of how to improve.

Listen to some really strong beats ‘get into it’.
Think of a clique or person that you have seen in a movie or you know and think of how they act if it relates and imitate them.
Try to let it take over you.
Pull faces – that relate, talk in a way which relates etc…
Pretty much think of someone that represents the attitude ideally and act like them. When I say act like them – I mean everything about them. Soon it will become easy and look natural.
Honestly if you are doing a dirty hip hop piece put on a dirty hip hop track and watch a ghetto/gangster movie then copy the actors actions. You will get into a new ‘flow’ and be able to convey it to the audience.
Good luck!
Everyone who thinks she is talking about ATTITUDE personality wise, you are wrong!!!
She is talking about the position in dance attitude!
I’m sorry I can’t help too much, coz mine kind of create a vacuum too!
She’s talking about attitudes in ballet! attitude is not referring to her personality.
Anyway, good question. ☺
My teacher showed me an interesting method when I was about 14 years old to help with extension in attitude. This works for either derriere or devant. Put your leg and knee up on the top or bottom bar, whatever your extension is. If you’re working on extension, it’s probably bottom ;]. Your knee should be on top of the bar, and your shin be pressing up against the wall behind. In other words, you should be in a very Vegoneva style attitude, very extreme, with your leg bent pretty much at a 90 degree angle at this point. Sitting there in either derriere or devant, stretching toward the legs, correcting your position, squaring off, will help you to build habits applicable both at the barre and en centre.
A way to improve your alignment is to take attitude very low, just above 45 degrees. This will allow you to balance and correct yourself without worrying about extension or balance.
Just remember that 90 degrees or below, your knee and toe should align. Trust me, it looks wimpy and you can hurt your joints if you lower your knee at these points. Anything above, though, you can lower your knee just a hair below your toe.
Épaulement can give you the illusion of height and grace. Look at this picture from the principle in ABT’s Coppelia: http://www.acc.umu.se/~coppelia/images/ballet/attitude.jpe
Her attitude devant is only just over 90. That’s not very impressive, but it looks a whole heck of a lot higher because of her port de bras and épaulement. In a complete contrast in the spectrum, take a look at this picture from a private website: http://iml.jou.ufl.edu/projects/Fall06/Metzger/images/ballet6.jpg
Her form is all over the place, and it looks bad because of:
1) Her foot. If you inspect her carefully, her line is not half bad, though lacking extension and proper alignment, until you reach the foot. The tiny foot can throw off an entire graceful line, even if you are way above 90.
2) Her nonexistant épaulment. Her horrible (*sorry!*) extension is not assisted by her lack of feeling and creative head movement.
3) Her bland and incorrect port de bras. When one has bad extension, he or she should make up for it by being creative and correct in all other places of the body. However, this woman does none of these.
4) Her alignment. If you look at the near hip, it is popped up way toward the camera. This is ridiculous because that usually only happens when pushing the limits of your extension. Hopefully, this woman is not pushing it. She needs to align hips and shoulders to make her attitude square.
Good for you. I respect your dedication and genuine curiousity in your craft. Kudos!♥☺☻☺☻♥
Good luck and hope I helped.♥
