Fake……?

Question by .: Fake……?
I’ve been unfortunate enough to develop the habit of biting my nails. While at a recent appointment, my hairdresser told me that, in her opinion, the easiest way to lose the habit, and look good in the meantime, is to get fake nails.

So, I was wondering a few things…
How long does the process of applying fake nails [[professionally done]] take?
About how much can I expect to pay?
How long will they last?
And if there’s any other information you think would be helpful, I’d appreciate it.
Thanks!

I’m pretty sure it takes like 20-30 mins to do, they cost 15-20 dollars approx. and they last about 2-3 weeks.

I went to a nail salon and had some put on.
    It took about 30-45 minutes.
And it cost me 40 bucks.
    They lasted 1 month.
    The end :)

well technically they are not fake..after awhile of you maintaning them the fake tip they put on will grown out and it will be your real nail. they first time when you get the put on it would take maybe an hour? it will cost about $ 30 the first time to get a full set and then every time you get them filled (about every 2 weeks) it will be $ 20. they will last a long time if you take care of them but you should get them filled every 2-3 weeks. i have pink and white gel tips and they are great..i would suggest thoes they are a bit more expensive but worth it

what they do is glue like a fake nail on top of the real one
make shure u get them pforfesionally done cuz if u get bad ones then wen u take the fae nail off ottle like pull pieces of the real nail of o leave glue stuck to the real one…
theres ones that last like just a week or u can get them done to last a looooong time…

when u take them off…. if u dont go to the saon to get them taken off then soak ur hand in hot water it makes it like softer

i really dont know how much it costs to get them don but i dont think its very expensive maybe like $ 20?

If your getting a french tip which is just a white tip it should only take up to 30-45 minutes. If you go to a salon like in wal mart or somyhing like that you will probedly pay 20 bucks but thats because their not as good. If you go to a good salon like I do you will get better nails but you have to pay more like 30 bucks plus tip. The goods one last up to a month if your careful. The other ones lost prbedly up to 2 weeks. I hope I have helped.

I assume you are speaking about acrylics.
It usually takes 20-30 minutes, depending on what colors/tips you want and if you want polish on it. Then the nails dry for 3-5 minutes under the UV light.

Every place is different and it depends on the gel you use. If you get powder it is probably going to be around 25-35(plus tip). Best thing to do is go to your local nail salon and ask them for their pricing.

They will usually last about 1 month, possibly more. It depends on how rough you are with them. I know people that keep theirs for 2-3 months, but personally I go 1 month. However, no matter how long you keep them on, you need to have them filled every 2 weeks. This costs about 10 dollars less than the price for the nails(plus tip), but again you need to check with your local salon to know for sure.

My best advise it to shop around. When you get them on, go one place and then 2 weeks later go somewhere else to get a fill; keep doing this until you find your favorite technician and then stay with him/her. Find one and stick with one. It is difficult to find one that “fits” with you because they are all different, but just like with men, find that one and don’t let um go!

Also, be sure that where you go has sterile equipment.

And I suggest to go with pink and white because it will go with everything and it is a sophisticated, classy look.

And no time in the process should you feel pain or discomfort. If the technician is hurting you, let them know; everyone is different and some people are more sensitive than others so they don’t know – speak up!

The process for pink and white:
Your nails are buffed and your cuticles are sanded away. Then your nails are prepared and the tips are glued on right by where the whites start on your natural nail. Then the tips are cut to the desired length. You then wash your hands/nails. The powdered gel is put on the nail, covering the tip. Clear coat of nail polish. And then under the dryer for about 3-5 minutes. And then you tip and pay and you’re all done.
    And enjoy your new nails!!!
