All so excited over getting a radio?

My home growing up was the anti-Waltons.

Man I didn't realize how beautiful the mom was as a kid. Her name is Michael Learned. Same is true of Carolyn on Little House on the Prairie. Two naturally beautiful women.

I used to dream about what the Walton's back yard would look like ...until I realized it was the Warner Brothers back lot.

Uhhhh. Koreans come from Korea! Not China dumb ass! And its the cheaper labor force of Asia that has probably afforded you the cheaper computer you wrote this comment on! Think about it!

That was the state of the art Zenith radio, somewhat common on ebay, in good condition one can easily bring in more than $3,000 !, hand crafted by real Americans, not slapped together by a bunch of coppycat Koreans from China.

Back then, people were more focused on family life. Today, people are more focused on money and having useless shit like XBox, plasma tv's and the newest gas guzzling SUV.

I am retired, so my wife and I frequently watch back to back reruns of the Waltons at 8 and 9 am M-F on the Hallmark Channel. Sometimes we see an episode we somehow missed in previous years.
acceitunas (September 24, 2008 at 2:28 pm)
This series and little house on the praire were my all time favorites.
Juliaflo (September 18, 2008 at 2:13 pm)
Today, Grandma Walton would be reported to Social Services for such action.
gaban77 (September 18, 2008 at 12:42 pm)
this show remind me of my village where i was born. behind my house ,live a husband and wife in a double storey house. They have 13 children but didn't have grandma and grandpa staying with them. And everybody in the village called them" The Waltons"
gaban77 (September 18, 2008 at 12:28 pm)
i think because, during that time there is no entertaiment like tv, movie or internet. so they spent most of their nights making love
Juliaflo (September 14, 2008 at 4:22 am)
Probably because of the 'barefoot and pregnant' mantra that was so much of a part of the society at the time, OR.....because when the children were old enough, they would work on the farm.
winkerwhelan (September 12, 2008 at 4:53 pm)
classic show -then again in ireland you had 5 stations if you were lucky
FPC2110 (September 5, 2008 at 1:46 pm)
IMHO, a classic American show that I watched as a young boy. My grandparents and I would watch each episode faithfully.

Now as a middle aged man, the reruns are still enjoyable and quite often bring a tear to my eyes at times. I only wish shows today were like what I once watched a long time ago. Great memories....
