In my opinion, the ending is saying that although we try our best to make a change or try to help, the real world doesn't always go the good way we expect. We are not in a perfect world. However, the good deeds people have done will leave their marks and have some impact on others, somehow. I believe in it. And I hope you will, too. :) Have a good day.
