2007 Daytona 500 Final Lap + Post Race


The wildest Daytona 500 finish in ages.Mark Martin and Kevin Harvick race back to the line in a photo finish. Harvick edges him by 0.02 of a second.Coming out of Turn 4, Kyle Busch get spun and this triggers a massive accident. David Gilliland gets on top of 1 car, while others spin around. Clint Bowyer gets hit and flips over violently. He slides through the tri oval upside down and flips back over in the grass. He gets out as his car was onfire. Jeff Gordon takes a bit of a shot from Juan Pablo Montoya.

You dont slow down for the crash your on the last lap of the 500 if he let up cause of the crash he deserved to lose then it was a great race and nascar did the right thing by not throwing the caution if they did what would that of solved nothing because they still would of been wrecking

I still think to this day that they should have thrown out the caution, and the only reason martin loss is because he slowed down due to the crash

Because then people would bitch that NASCAR threw the caution and prevent a good finish from happening (sadly).

I can understand throwing a caution on the last lap, with a wreck happening on the first or second turn, but with the checkers in sight, you let them run.

It was a fair race to the end. Whoever crosses the line first wins. If they had thrown the caution would've that prevented anything? If I was at the back of the pack and I saw a huge multi-car pile up I'd slow down, caution or not! And fate determines whether I'm hit or not. When Mark got loose in between turns 3 and 4 that's when I told myself that Harvick had won it. It was fun to watch, I just don't like the commentary.

Theres a couple ways I look at it.Why didnt NASCAR throw the caution but at the same time I always say let them race back....But if I were Mark Martin's spotter I woulda told him to him to go high in entering 3....idk I was more happy about the car that won..not the driver. I love Mark Martin and this is just the story of his career
