Nice Christian McBride's t-shirt.
By the way he's extremely pleasant in his concerts. He came to my city in Brazil and everybody in the room loved him.

Holy cow! How the heck did Sanchez cue the band to come in EXACTLY on time after the solo?
fakexs (November 29, 2008 at 9:21 pm)
did you understand something of the solo??
oiciruam7 (November 26, 2008 at 11:57 pm)
i would say: if you like Pat Metheny, check out Jim Hall. Al Di Meola, in my opinion, is a hole other thing, but if you like Al, check Larry Coryell or John Mclaughlin.

If you like Pat Metheny , also check out Al Di Meola. I just discovered him recently and he's a great virtuoso guitarist as well. I found a copy of his "Land of the Midnight Sun " on vinyl and it's just awesome.

These guys are awesome. The drum solo needs more cowbell tho.

When Pat described how he came up with Antonio in one of his concerts (hummingbird center, Toronto, ON) he said that he was at some concert backstage or studio (don't remember excatelly) and he heard him play from far away, at first, he taught there were two people playing at the same time... it was then where he realized... this MEXICAN guy is a keeper...!!!!! Bien Antonio!

saw these three guys last november, probably the greatest jazz show ive seen.
some of metheny's 87 string, crazy indian/african stuff was a little out there, but when they played the standards like this, I was in heaven

I love, love, love Pat Metheny. This man's a fucking genius. He's got to be one of best contemporary jazz guitarists.
speaking of latino drummers, everyone should check out horacio 'el negro' hernandez if you havent already
