He has built his own submarine! Awesome!! (Sweden)


Erik Westerberg is a 26 year old smith from Kålaboda in northern Sweden who has built his very own submarine. This footage is from the very first test-launch, and it looks very promising. He started his work in the year 2005 and finished 2007 with around 2500 hours of work put into it.

Erik Westerberg är en 26 årig smed från byn Kålabodai norra Sverige som har byggt en egen ubåt. Här är bilder från jungfrufärden. Det ser lovande ut! Han började bygget år 2005 och blev färdig 2007, efter mer än 2500 timmars arbetstid.

If you happen to nourish a dream deep inside of you - go for it!To live in a magnificent country which allows you to acquire the skills, the incomes and the support from your family and friends necessary for realizing a goal like this is something truly great.

I have travelled the world, but never have I come across a country that rivals Sweden in terms of providing individual opportunities - although countries like Germany, USA and Norway etc come close.

Its his hobby, no doubt it did consume his life over the last 2 years, but so what. Some people are very good at fitting all sorts of things into their day, while others laze and drink and moan. This is a credit to him. If he had spent the 2 years building a hotrod car, you probably wouldn't have made your comment. He certainly seems to be outgoing here.
