geddy likes to keep his amps under that stage instead of have them on the stage so they put washers there for a joke, they are filled with t-shirt they throew into the crowd. when i saw them they had a chicken rotisserie and a guy in a chef costume came and basted them every couple of songs

The internet is killing MTV fuck the media, let them die off, im off to buy some pirated DVD's now!
YYZED64 (January 4, 2009 at 11:19 pm)
MTV ruined music , starting with it's first video Video Killed The Radio Star (by the Buggles,I believe).VH1 is closer to what MTV should have been, agree or disagree with what they say/It makes for interesting discussion and loud ranting some times.Eddie what's his name is a big butt kisser....

Neil is a good musician and is still alive despite the sudden passing of his daughter before the expected passing of his wife.He also played his style for 30 or so years ,and then bowed down to Buddy Rich and had buddy teach him how to drum, assuming he knew nothing. If you see a Rush show, wait for the drum kit to rotate , and (excuse the album reference, but) Presto!
YYZED64 (January 4, 2009 at 11:11 pm)
The reason you don;t hear this is due to the length of the song. This takes up the additional time a radio station could use for a few more (paid) advertisements.

WishComplex (January 3, 2009 at 11:47 pm)
its just a random setup that rush likes to put in the background of their shows..for instance when i saw the snakes and arrows tour in 07 and 08 they had chickens roasting in the background
WishComplex (January 3, 2009 at 11:44 pm)
possibly my favorite comment on youtube because its so true ^
vectron12 (January 3, 2009 at 11:27 pm)
lol travis barker sucks so bad
and yeah i agree neil actually does things on the drums that are actually god-like instead of making it look like he's doing good by waving his head around

What people lack to understand about Neil Peart is that he is a PERCUSSIONIST not just a drummer like the morons that stick merely to blast beats and shitty solos. There are drummers who could have destroyed ayone on a mere 4 or even 3 piece set (i.e. Buddy, Gene, Hampton) but I've yet to see anyone recently with as much talent as Neil or anyone aforementioned, and yes I do know who Travis Barker is.

If you like the guitar on this, Get your meathooks on a copy of the bootleg live 1974 Electric Ladyland cd. It has working man in its raw glory, with two great guitar solos that cossover into strains of By-Tor&The Snow Dog Before they ever came out with By-Tor.It is my favorite version of the 25-30 or so Live Working Man Jams that I have.

Working Man and 2112 are the true classics of rock and roll, regardless of what some stupid producer at vh1 thinks. The stupid lists they make of "top 100 rock songs" are so purely subjective its ridiculous. In my Book 'Working Man' is in the top ten anthems of the 70's, and I lived the 70's so I can talk.
7rockwater7 (January 3, 2009 at 6:59 am)
The good musicians have died out because one no longer has to be classically trained or in the least bit good to sell a record anymore, and people cant appreciate a good musician these days.Thats why great bands like Rush, Deep Purple, Led Zep, Jimi Hendrix and their like get so little airplay, and if they get any, its the most banal pop music that they ever played. Such as 'Tom Sawyer'.
7rockwater7 (January 3, 2009 at 6:59 am)
The "strange" reason you never heard this song is that they dont play good music on the radio. Only music that can sell records to the general population.Thats why the best period of music making was between the 60's and the the late 70's.
Because this is what was played on the radio back then--long progressive artistic rock.

could anybody explain the washer and dryer on stage?
platymarmot (January 2, 2009 at 8:21 am)
for some strange reason I had never heard this song until a few minutes ago. this song has one of the best riffs I have ever heard. these guys are by far some of the greatest musicians in rock.
