Media Caught Lying, Version2
I stumbled on a stunning disconnect between the major media version of election coverage and candidate appearance trends on the internet. The Mainstream Media seems to have largely ignored something major on the web. This version corrects a minor error in the first version. Note: This video has attracted a lot of attention from hater-trolls so I may block anyone that comes here to make trouble. All respectful and intelligent discussion is welcome.

Moral of the story,
Its media which is more powerful than internet.

It seems like this points to the fact that people on the internet are telling the sheep to vote for Ron Paul, and people in the other media are telling the sheep to vote for Obama. I'm not sure I'm down for either choice.

too bad there are still many idiots out there who just dont fucking get it. i wanna see what the trend has been lately for NWO or illuminati or how about ill type down "fuck the media". the media is a mind control agency that pretty much creates the world we live in , if people just dont get that or think its too corny or its rubbish then go fuck off watch "tell A vision"

I regretfully have to say "Obama" gives much more hits than "Barack Obama". Still Ron Paul tips above Obama in 2007. Considering the huge difference in media attention Ron Paul should be president.

There's nothing like resorting to swearing to win an argument.
First off, by 'geeks and nerds' I didn't exclusively mean computer geeks, I also meant political junkies. I'd go on, but I wonder how much more eloquent you'd get in response.

And btw if Ron Paul is a nutbar, then how come he is right about the FED? and if he is right and that makes him a nutbar I guess that makes you a gullible cocksucker huh? or your mom has the cock sucking gene? Maybe your father sucks the dicks of twelve year old boys because he is a rich lawyer or doctor? Or perhaps that is you? Nutbur? OR was it you suck nutbar?

so your assuming that people who visited the ron paul pages twice were computer geeks? Wow your a stupid fuck cause i know for a fact computer geeks in general care very little about politics...dumb ass.Second, wrong...hte media decides who gets the exposure, can't know someone before you see them or word of mouth gets to you,a nd word of mouth in the modern world travels by television you dumb fuck. I think they concluded you were a nutbar, that's why i'm the only one answering you.

I said 'heavy' internet users. You know - geeks and nerds - not just all internet users. It's the multiple use thing that sways any hit/search based 'polling'.
Besides, if Paul really were genuinely popular, then no amount of media bias would have done him in. He'd have at least taken credible results in the GOP polls (if the 'straw polls' from Dec 07 were anything to go by). Perhaps a lot of people read what he had to say, watched the clips, and then concluded he was a nutbar?

not true, where the election occured in America, internet users are typical in statistical studies. For example, my grandma uses the internet and fills out polls, so do all 900 of my friends, this means statistically, that in and around teh chicago land area, most people of all ages use the internet.

Besides, the African example is not analogous:
1) Surveys are usually conducted against hundreds or possible a thousand or two people, not 80% of the target population.
2) A survey implies an attempt at a random sample with each person getting one set of responses. Internet usage is self-selecting and each user can make multiple searches.
I myself searched for Ron Paul in 2007 as I had no clue who he was. That doesn't mean I support him.
Ron Paul lost. But he got a load of cash ha ha!

Two problems - by hit I mean searches. That means people want to find something, but it doesn't mean that they agree with what they find. eg I research the activity of extremist politicians, but not because I like them, because I oppose them. My searches should not be shown as 'support', but by your reasoning they would be.
Secondly, yes, people who heavily use the internet are not typical. The more heavy the usage (and so the more activity they engage in on line), the less typical they are.

Isamright33 (December 10, 2008 at 9:25 pm)
and hits do equal popularity unless 90 percent of those hits in the data above were from accidental clicks, do you want me to approximat ethe probability of that for you? It's akin to getting hit by lightining in outerspace.
Isamright33 (December 10, 2008 at 9:25 pm)
the problem is the number of people who use the internet is a large of enough sample to determine what the people whod on't use the internet think. For example, you are taking a survey in africa, and you ask 80 percent of afriacns what they like, that's a large sample. So 80 percent of the africans you haven't asked, +- some will like the same thing. Now what your saying is illogical, cause what your sayingi s if they use the internet then they are different "africans" than if they don't.
danivonluze (December 10, 2008 at 4:11 pm)
hits != popularity
people who use the internet a lot != all voters
Is it that difficult?
people who use the internet a lot != all voters

Well done man! Destroy the concentrated media!
Freedom of the press doesnt mean corporations should be the arbiters of "democracy". Their networth screams capitalism first, democracy second.

Undoubtedly Ron Paul should be the President. He is without any shadow of a doubt the only real politician in the world today that understand the concept for the people by the people. Im a UK resident and I wish we had such a politicians, No, what we have are cowards and traitors. harsh words I know, but that's the reality. perhaps the next time around the Ron Paul surge helped by the people will demand coverage. Its easy, turn off your TVs, they will get the message very very fast.
