it's the ol' "lost-my-toolbag-greesing-that-thing" excuse. but with a name like snufalufapiper you'd expect her to loose that shit.

there goes $10,000,000 slowly drifting away. All because NASA was forced to employ a woman because of a set equality quota rather than on ability

mistakes happen bitch, it could happen to anyone man or women

Just goes to show you that there's even stupid astronauts.

$100k ?!?! wow, that was such a stupid mistake, why did she just push the toolbag away? what did she expect to happen?

Then NASA should send you in space since you're perfect.

Don't be so fucking bitter. Mistakes DO happen, even to the best of the best.

"So What, Mistakes Happen."No, mistakes don't "happen", she MADE a stupid mistake because she wasn't fit to be in space. She was only on that shuttle because she was FEMALE - how many more qualified men do you think missed their chance because the assholes at NASA wanted to be more 'diverse'? A thousand? Ten thousand? Morethan that, I bet.
Her actions, clearly caught on video, show that she is not fit to do the job, and look at how much it's cost us, the taxpayers - $100,000.

Look, Heidemarie, he TOLD you it was going to leak - the grease gun was supposed to leak how do you think you get those things up in space without them leaking a bit? They told you it was going to happen ahead of time. Don't say it "exploded" or that it was "all over" - it was as it was supposed to be. It wasn't tethered right. That was also not the engineers fault - it was the people who put together the bag. Don't blame the grease gun or the person who made it - it was made perfectly.

I think there is room in space for one tool bag. Have some perspective.
MoralMoney (December 4, 2008 at 2:21 am)
Ha! Its like she wanted to move it out of the way and thought it would just stay there. Its as if she was looking for her keys in her purse and was getting pissed and forgot where she was!

As soon as I heard this because not only in Earth polluting itself, it is also polluting space.

the next shuttle that comes to visit the space station will get that hige speed tool bag on there windscreen

it looked like she threw it away on purpose and at the last second she tryed to reach it but i guess poeple make mistakes
trufflepyg (December 1, 2008 at 9:05 am)
Whats got me about this is the apparent fact that she jolted and bumped the errant bag around for a while before it actually made its escape - seems it WAS tethered but must have come undone

true dat. if people r angry over this then i wonder why no one cares that the gov't just gave away close to a trillion dollars to save private businesses. effectively putting private capitalists under the financial mercy of the gov't. smell of socialism anyone?
str8blues31 (December 1, 2008 at 12:56 am)
Mistakes happen. I've lost more tools than I care to remember. The reason for all the negativity is because her mistake happened to be caught on camera for the world to see. Losing a 100k tool bag is a drop in the hat compared to the billions of dollars the government wastes.
Give her a break. No one is perfect.

i don't get it y all these people keep bashing the astronaut on this page when every other video about it the comments are light-hearted and funny. Must be some mean ass people who comment on AP videos.

This astronaut fainted twice after a previous shuttle mission. Although hard to find, there are still news reports on the internet that confirm this astronaut did faint twice after a previous space flight during a welcome home ceremony on September 22 2006 for STS-115 at Ellington Field in Houston. Now she has lost a $100,000 tool bag, tried to pass the blame to another astronaut, doesn't want to hear anything more about it and is ready to move on. When will NASA learn?

I finished school many years ago. What's your point? Do you have a tool box?
