Charles Mingus - Moanin'
I want to make love to that bari. Much love for Charlie and his work in general.Edit: This is from 'Nostalgia in Times Square' 1993 - Ronnie Cuber plays the bari.

What it sez. (Mingus Big Band 93: Nostalgia in Times Square, 1993 Disques Dreyfus.) Wouldn't hurt to hear the whole thing.

This didn't need any remastering, since it's not Mingus. It's the Mingus Big Band playing Moanin' in 1993, years after Mingus's death in 1979.

essa música é bem progressiva e insinuante, percebam os sons e contra sons ,a fusão dos instrumentos...a beleza dos movimentos sonoros..isto é um DEUS.....isto é divino.

Yes, it's just the end of a plunger, as long as you have the correct size for the bell it works great, holding it partially open produces the tone.
zipporia20 (December 24, 2008 at 5:08 pm)
thats acually a trombone except he is using a plunger or something to change the tone. my band teacher does it, its really cool

Wow, I loved that! I loved how he built it up, and then just dropped it. Was very powerful! =)

SOhio142 (December 19, 2008 at 4:27 am)
improv at the beginning of this song really sets it up, its just not the same without it.
SOhio142 (December 19, 2008 at 4:25 am)
I got to play the Bari part for this song in our Jazz band, so awesome!!
nivniv1982 (December 18, 2008 at 9:37 pm)
By the way i love a Mingus piece called "The Shoes of the Fisherman's Wife Are Some Jive Ass Slippers", i think it's one of his best
nivniv1982 (December 18, 2008 at 9:34 pm)
Indeed the Baritone is hitting you directly in the guts and it's rough, just like the great late Charles Mingus' music, so powerful...
