nonreflexability (January 3, 2009 at 5:58 am)
did your wheels ever slip out cuz the roads didnt look too icy. awesome vid
Graydon19 (January 3, 2009 at 3:50 am)
Sweet. Thanks alot. I love how you guys always reply back.
Originalskateboards (January 2, 2009 at 2:47 pm)
Hey Gray,
You might want to go with some 3dm Avilas if things are a little rough, those wheels absorb some serious road noise.

I personally ride the Retro ZigZags 70mm 80a for most hills, but they do get chattery on the rough stuff (I ate it hardcore in EP5 because the road was so rough it chattered my Apex out from under my feet).

That being said, soft wheels are your best friend on rough roads. You might also want to look at a set of Abec 11 Gumballs.
Graydon19 (January 2, 2009 at 6:52 am)
Awesome videos. What wheels would you guys suggest for on the Apex for carving on hills that are pretty mello and bumpy?
Originalskateboards (December 28, 2008 at 5:36 pm)
It was a lot of fun, we are looking forward to the next one!
ajn132 (December 26, 2008 at 5:40 pm)
well you guys sure were well equipt. sounds like that trip was a blast
Originalskateboards (December 26, 2008 at 3:59 pm)
1x Apex 37 w/S8s + Lime ZigZags
1x Torpedo 40 w/S8s
1x Hybrid
1x Malakai 40 w/S8s
1x Derringer
1x Custom 45
1x Terrapin 34

I think we had 9 which means that I am some how missing two but I don't remember which ones they were. Most of the riding was done on the Apex, Torpedo, Malakai and Terrapin.

This video specifically was shot on the Apex, Malakai (w/S8 200mms) and the Custom 45.
ajn132 (December 26, 2008 at 3:07 am)
how many boards did you guys take on this trip?
Originalskateboards (December 24, 2008 at 4:46 pm)
Just one, with giant cohones.
Originalskateboards (December 24, 2008 at 4:46 pm)
Hey Karl,
Working on a bunch of trips right now, not sure which will come through but something will haha
Originalskateboards (December 24, 2008 at 4:45 pm)
I am not sure about that,
I would call the local board shop and ask, I have heard there are a couple shops in whistler that stock longboards.
friendshipfaction (December 24, 2008 at 9:35 am)
Did you guys have more than one camera man shooting this?
karlsilla (December 24, 2008 at 1:23 am)
Overseas perhaps? Probably thinking way ahead in the future. Personally love the fact that instead of bombing it straight down, you get to see some sights whilst carving.
Darkthorx (December 23, 2008 at 11:00 pm)
Im hitting whistler this march and im a big longboarder, think theres any decent hills like this out there?
Originalskateboards (December 23, 2008 at 4:25 pm)
Thanks Karl!
We had a lot of fun working on it, now we just have to follow it up with something just as killer... but what...
karlsilla (December 23, 2008 at 7:23 am)
This has to be my favourite out of all the episodes. It would have been immense if i were to put myself in your shoes riding down the mountains in the storm.

Good job with the series. Next collection I get for my quiver will be one of yours.

Cheers

Hey Sea,
It took a long time up and a long time down,
There was a lot of water / oil crossing the road in places so sometimes we would have to walk down a bit and then ride, I would say it was four hours up two hours down with time for shooting etc
Originalskateboards (December 22, 2008 at 3:26 pm)
Road was closed for this location,
No traffic allowed up or down and a seriously locked down gate.
Originalskateboards (December 22, 2008 at 3:26 pm)
Do it up man,
Let us know if you are looking for a new set of trucks, we will hook it up.
seahwkfan2233123 (December 22, 2008 at 5:37 am)
Original SB's,
do you know if these guys long boarded without stopping the whole way down, and if they did how long did it take?
kevinder3 (December 17, 2008 at 3:39 am)
awesome!
sanstrian (December 16, 2008 at 5:21 am)
this is fucking awesome...I grew up at the beach and have suffered some real depression sometimes since moving 200 miles inland two years ago.

You guys just gave me a new lease on life by inspiring me to put my longboard to use.
