the 90's were better than this decade, but to me this decade is just an extension of what was being done. The 90's was full of sampling and unoriginality, but at least r&b singers had the voice to back it up, and the hip hop artists were singing about real, meaningful experiences though also sampling like no one's business. The 90's are unoriginal and played it safe all the time but it also resulted in a lot of good music.

An important song directed especially to our African American brothers back then&now. I beleive that not only is Monica saying that his interaction with the streets will jepordize their relationship, but his OWN MOTHAFUKIN LIFE!! People need to make more songs like this and spread the message!!

I don't care what anyone says but the R&B ladies of the late 90s were the business. Brandy, Monica, and Aaliyah put all others too shame. They are great singers and amazing performers. The new stuff is cool but they can't really compare...
