The Moog Micromoog

Moog's first "inexpensive Minimoog." Released in 1975, it provided great functionality for less money. Since the analog boom, this wonderful synth has been overlooked, and in some cases decried, by most. Hopefully, this video will indicate why the Micromoog deserves more respect.Feel free to use this video in your eBay auctions, but please give me credit! Thanks!

Yeah I remember that music, really eerie at times, composed by two guys- W.Michael Lewis and Lauren Rinder. They were disco guys in the 70's and 80's, go figure lol.

Reminds me of "In Search of...". They used to have some wonderful little tweezy and creepy synth sounds on there. In Sasquatch by Tenacious D they say "with Leonard Nimoy kicking out the jams!" and I always think about it's synth sounds.

The song is "Heliograph," by Automatic Gainsay.
Thanks!

Anyone feel like telling me what that song is in the beginning? If it IS a song, that is. It sounds wonderful. Would be much appreciated.

AutomaticGainsay (December 2, 2008 at 4:44 pm)
If I found it annoying, I probably wouldn't go to such effort to demonstrate it and all of the other analog synths. ; )

I used to love the sounds I got out of my old Micro back in the day. One thing I hated was the maintanence. Routine was opening the hood&cleaning the contact bar&wires that extended from each key. Then making sure that nothing got bent in the process.
Greenblackie (October 26, 2008 at 5:37 pm)
I just got one for $365, first year (1975) serial number 1501.

Quite a deal, eh?
