Up yours orduni90! Phillip Seymour Hoffman is fantastic! See his performance in "Cold Mountain". This cat is great, and I can't wait to see his work to come in the next 25 years. He will surely win some more Academy Awards. He is a great actor!

I first watched this film in 2004 and to this day it is one of my very personal favorites! Al Pacino is an absolutely amazing actor, artest, and is at the top of all actors/actresses of our time. If you want to see more amazing performances of his....one i would suggest would be The Godfather Part 1 and 2. Enjoy! It's Al Pacino Time!

You're wrong man. Slade means that they shouldn't blackmail him with promises of giving him the edge, or punish him, because he will cover them, after all, the car was just dirty, not destroyed. They shouldn't involve every student in it. He met that it is better to be a man with principles, with honor, a man that when facing danger, will do/sell/harm anyone to save him self.

Pacino's character doesn't criticize if Charlie's actions are right or wrong, he points out that Charlie's actions didn't involve sacrificing others to make himself better. Pacino is pointing out that they are sacrificing one to protect many in an incident that was wrong and there in is the problem.

Pacino isn't commenting to screw justice, only that one shouldn't use it as a blanket to punish another.
