I just love how people have decided that this song, set to sacred words, is something that should be used as a "pop" thing, and then go and croon it at open air concerts.But I'll admit; she has a very pretty voice here.

Sarah Brightman has a beautiful voice, but her voice could never touch me emotionally the way Hayley's voice can. Haley has this ability to move me to tears with the sheer beauty of her voice, regardless of the song/lyrics. Sarah Brightman could never do that for me.

Well vcvti, I did go to find it but only found her singing the older version. I don't understand how you could compare the two, the other lady has a more mature and more 'trained' voice, this girl (as Vitoria de los Angeles) has managed to keep a pure unforced sound. De gustibus anyway - beauty is in the eye of the beholder, so to compare beauty and score its value!?! Bravo to all great art - check out Andrew Johnstons version too, the more , the merrier I say. I saw her sing at the Pavillion in San Jose, California. She sang as if the magic of the night truly belongs to her. I have to admit that it was the best concert i've been to along with my parents. Thanks to Sarah Brightman! My only wish is that I wanted her autograph on the program book I bought for $30.00.

vcti. Sophie is singing Faure's Requiem a totally different Pie Jesu to the ALW one. Hayley was 15 here Sophie is in her 30s so naturally has a more mature voice. Only opera snobs care if a microphone is used or not. Also remember this an outdoor concert without the acoustics of a concert hall.

Hayley sounds like an angel who came down fromHeaven. I wish that "Pie Jesu" was aroundforty years ago when Elvis Presley was singinghis gospel songs like "How Great Thou Art"and "You'll Never Walk Alone." Elvis wouldhave loved to sing "Pie Jesu", and the wholeworld would have loved to hear him sing it.
