Satriani, Malmsteen, Becker. Haha. Go see them live, you´ll find out. They are all robots. Especially Malmsteen. That guy hasn´t present anything of his own. Except an easy way out picking. Guitar playing is a whole lot more than mindless shredding.

liftys right malmsteem could play anything clapton does but it wouldn't work the other way round. Check out rusty cooley and malmsteem and all of them. thats real guitar playing

My comment re girlfriend - not everything is best when done quickly ;-) Seriously tho, yeah Yngwie is a great player (Satriani is better IMHO) and the whole neo-classical thing was cool for a while but I watched Yngwie on the G3 tour and he looked a little dorky busting out of those spandex trousers! To dimiss Hendrix as shit because he didn't play a million notes a second is missing the point - Hendrix was a great player.

I'm reading it, he said he admired Jeff Beck and Jimmy Page, but he said he didn't felt a competition thing around them because at the time Clapton was all blues, and Jeff&Jimmy had more rockabilly influences in those early years, at least that's what I think
