so glad to find this video, my cousin taught me this when I was younger, he just passed, it was comforting to watch it

Chris Degarmo said this song is about a parent trying to explain life and death to a child after the child loses someone close to them, awesome song

I love this song and video! The part near the end when the mother walks towards the child gets me emotional; she died in '02

One of the best all-time rock voices! I was a senior in H.S. when this song owned the charts. I appreciate it even more now and yes...it does bring back a lot of memories.

This was the first cd I owned when I was 10. They played this song on MTV and I had to have it. I got into punk rock, and eventually became a drum and bass DJ. I can still come back to this song and appreciate it for everything that it is.

silent lucidity is the state I am in right now
tombull71 (December 27, 2008 at 5:30 am)
Damn, I couldn't agree more, even with your comment about More Than Words! Hell, I was 19 in 1990 and that was a long time ago..But yeah, this song is a flood of memories
phxhvac (December 27, 2008 at 3:48 am)
It's so hard to believe that this song is from 1990. I feel so old watching this! Nirvana wasn't even on the radar screen yet! This is the last gasp of the 80's music, along with, Extreme "More Than Words". This is one that brings me back to a specific time and place.
shawnavey4420 (December 27, 2008 at 1:07 am)
this song rocks my face off
bonerpalooza69 (December 26, 2008 at 2:58 am)

ffejbboc (December 26, 2008 at 1:13 am)
this song is freakin' epic. Groups nowadays can't even touch this in terms of emotion, structure, bridge, etc. Just flawless.
