De La Soul is the truth. If you're raising a kid and trying to compete with B.E.T. and MTV for their musical interests, consider buying them the STAKES IS HIGH album by De La Soul. It's nothing but the truth...

Ok. Not to start an argument, but I don't wayne would never have had a name for himself without Juvenile 400 degreez. I am guessing thats why you mentioned Juvenile to star with. Wayne, as well as 50, rich boi, soulja boy, etc are into quick money music. Say the same shit that has been said before, make a quick summer jam, cash in. Not by approaching hip hop as art, or having a message. People listeners eventually mature out of that. This was art to begin with.

1996 is the year Hip-Hop fell apart

enjoyincubus222 (January 3, 2009 at 4:03 pm)
there is good hip hop, it's just not really recognized and you gotta dig for it. stone's throw records is where it's at.
pinoyboy805 (January 3, 2009 at 4:02 pm)
i dont care how many people bump it or what styles there is im just saying if you look up lil waynes lyrics to his songs like lolipop or a millie it doesnt make sensenow his old school stuff was actually pretty decent but now its just crap it doesnt make any scense
adeofspades1 (January 3, 2009 at 12:28 am)
I agree. ppl who say hiphop today is real also say football today is sport/entertainment. It is not.
condorito93swe (January 2, 2009 at 2:14 am)
wow im amazed how intelligent these rhymes are it makes me happy to listen to this real hip hop. Its just sad that ppl in ma age (16) dont listen to this real hip hop but listen to lil wayne shit really fustrated as fuck.
waxster16 (January 1, 2009 at 8:35 pm)
you cant compare hiphop then to hiphop now.hiphop now is not hiphop.this is hiphop.
upabittoolate (January 1, 2009 at 5:53 pm)
horseshit, people still bump juvenile&li'l wayne. people still bump old 50 too. that's not how you tell any differences. that's a very shallow meter
xxxxxxxz (January 1, 2009 at 3:20 pm)
This song is like 13 years old now, and people still bump it. Wayne, like the majority of rap these days has a shelf life of maybe 2 years. Thats how to tell the difference. It's the same reason no one listens to "in the club" by 50 cent nowadays.
namkooc (December 31, 2008 at 12:54 pm)
me too :) real hiphop
