have you ever watched any one sparring most people do wear headguards incase of injury preventing them from fighting you clearly havn't watched many pro boxers spar

because he is obviously in training for a fight anything cud happen during sparring doesn't matter how bad your oponent is ther is always a risk of getting hurt tyson probably isn't wearing one bcoz the fight is far away or maybe just doesn't like them it is up to the boxer themselves some ppl just don't like headguards

what do u mean, nobody uses headgear during sparring/ but i can understand it when u gotta spar vs tyson. wish i could see tyson vs lewis sparring in this period or holyfield or ALI

It's the same thing with me. When i sparr i don't take it seriously so i do not throw strong punches or move so fast. When i'm boxing it's a diffrent story.

Hey i'm just echoing Kevin Rooney's words, an that was the reason Tyson didn't spar with headgear, who are you to question him?

A head guard protects against cuts....tyson not wearing one was pretty stupid. It's sad, he had such a good technique, good jab, movement and combination technique like floyd patterson (1,2,3,9,12) but then stopped using his assets later in his career.

its like studying, you forget to do things, its between you and another.. either you go at it with punctuality or not.. but like keywords, you must remember... these things are what you body must remember, that's why we have the heavy bags, the pads, the speedbag, or even in martial arts, athletics, and at work.. you maybe forgetful... it happens.. but your routine, or not must help you get you ready .. must. safe training to you =)

i dnt get it...when i sparr im not so good but when i box seriously...i end up winning...is sparring like a training rountine where you practise and then when u master u will be good at it...like skipping....on the pads....ball to ceiling ball...heavy bags?plz help :S :S :S

he has good head movement..one.. one two.. headfeint.. inside.. body shot.. and holds his hands up very professionally./ man he must got that by instinct.. they dont seem to bounce too much

Headgear gives a false sense of secuity that boxers won't have on fight night, thats why there is none in sparring
