it's true that a beginner should not go for more than a 600cc, no matter what age. i'm selling my four wheels to get a gsxr600
1000cc is like inviting trouble, and R1 is like inviting death.

deff do that. when you grab a handful of throttle, i think you will find pretty quick that it is more than enough go to keep you happy for a good while.

yeah i have classfriend he has 600 cc bike i don't know what model but he's just 16 si i'll ask him,and im not 21 as it says in my chanel im 16 too :D

honestly, i would say go with the 600...it is going to be more power than you need. the other problem with a 1000 is how twitchy they are because of the power they make. if you look at stunt riders, they all use 600s(mainly the 636 and the F4i). even getting used to the power of my r6 was rough. i still throw my head back when i get a tiny bit careless. try to find a friend who has a 600cc bike. you will see what i mean. they can still do 160+mph..and lighter, so easier to do wheelies/stoppies

i know what you mean but when i get my r1im not gona try to do wheelies or stoopies the same day i get it,first i will try to get the feel of the handling throthle clutch and stuff, and when i have enough experience i'll try it :D

dont take this personally, but an R1 is probably WAY too much bike for you. I have an R6 and it is a fucking beast. dont buy the litre bike just because it is big and fast. learn to ride the 600 and you will be able to keep up, if not beat most people with litre bikes.
the other thing, those 125cc bikes put out no power...the R1 puts down a shitload. I dont know the exact number off the top of my head, but i know my R6 puts down 118 hp. that chopper may put down 20, and i doubt that much even.

When you initially apply the brakes, bear down on them, lean out, load the front and then--if the fronts still skidding? The Good Lord doesn't want you doing them! I got a TW's back end in the air once...
Jaknob007 (November 10, 2008 at 4:51 am)
i tried this on mt TTR225 and all the front tire would do is skid even when i leaned way forward. What am i doing wrong? is the bike to heavy? i have a motocross front tire does that make a difference over supermoto? thx

i'm no expert on stoppies, but if u go too far and try to stop, you can kick down on the pegs to push the bike back down enough to regain control
